Every year, the Cane River Photographic Society participates in Scott Kelby’s Worldwide Photo Walk. As the name suggests, this event is held in cities all around the world by photographers, for photographers. I had the pleasure of leading the walk this year and I knew the CRPS had to take advantage and document the newly-constructed downtown area, for posterity ya know? This time around our normally decent-sized group was hampered slightly by the rain. We kept our heads up, though, because soon after the walk started the rain stopped. We made our way through downtown Natchitoches, meandering along Front Steet, the riverbank and Beau Jardin. The rain did help with one thing, contrast! All of my images were super contrasty and perfect just from the quality of light and the fact that the rain made everything just a little bit darker while being more reflective.
